Climate & Weather

The long dry season lasts throughout June, July, August, September and October. Temperatures vary hugely with altitude and location, but it’s usually a fine, clear sky and sunny weather. The humidity is high and daily temperatures reach the low-mid 30°s. Pack for the beach – as simple as that! Do not overload your suitcase with unnecessary clothes. Leave some room for any shopping that you do on your vacation.

Zanzibar cuisine is mainly influenced by Asian and Indian culture. There are plenty of local food markets on the island of Zanzibar. It’s where most people head for dinner and have a real taste of traditional local food. There is a whole range of local dishes that are made from a variety of seafood options to Mediterranean style dishes, chapattis, vegetables and samosas.

This is just a taste of what is on offer for an authentic cuisine experience.

The currency is the Tanzanian Shilling.
